A Typical Lions Sleeping Pattern, Speed and Age with #AskMeg | The Lion Whisperer

This video confused me. It's says posted 6 months ago but Amy is there? I deduce it's an old video put up later but I'm really wondering how Meg is doing. I was hoping perhaps there was some success pairing her up with one or more lions. She looks lonely except when Kevin is with her, but he isn't most of the time is my guess. I could watch these all day... I was born with a lion heart I think, though the thought that I could live with one was never introduced... so naturally... even though I'm allergic I've always had cats, the wilder the better. I guess humanized animals just don't challenge me... or seem natural. Though I love all animals, I love the ones I see in the wild, I can't go to zoo's, the animals eyes are dead... caged and prisoners... their only crime is that humans want to dominate them. Thank you Kevin for showing my heart was right!

Watching your videos makes me want to quit my job, move to South Africa, and work with these animals at a good sanctuary.

I see there are clouds when they are roaring, so I think most probably they are roaring because they sense it is going to rain soon. Also they are roaring to clear their throat or lungs. And also when danger is near. Maybe not.

hi Kevin.. I want to #AskMeg - you once spoke about lions challenging you for your meat bag when they are growing up into their teenage so to say.. how do you handle them and keep them disciplined?

Oh wow!! When I was a girl of about 6-7 years of age, I used to LOVE the smell of dirt on my dog or cats' feet. I used to lay under my grandma's coffee table with one of the animals smelling its feet!!!! Everyone thought I was weird and crazy.😻 🙄

I enjoy watching your videos every night to see whats going on with the lions. I love Cole and Nikita your black leopards. I have a new gray tabby and I have cherished cats all my life. The hyenas I'm warming up to. Not there yet with liking them as much but am fascinated to hear you tell us about them. They are amazing in their own right. I wish I could get close to these amazing cats the way you do its a gift that only you have. They seem just like the domestic cats with one exception. They can decide on you for dinner. That said safer to watch you. I love your sanctuary. You take such pride in it. Thanks

i was sad seeing Amy as well , realizing that she had passed in January 2020 , but it was therapeutic in some ways as well , to see her well and with Meg . The video when you speak of Amy's passing broke my heart , how she literally waited for you to get back from your vacation and then quickly passed after your return . The love and bond that you have with these wild animals in your care is truly amazing . Even though they are living in captivity , they have the very best enriched life with you , regardless of their species , whether lion, hyena, or leopard they are all living the very best life they could possibly live . You have made it possible for us to enjoy a glimpse of their everyday life . I enjoy these videos , and am excited when new ones are released , but have enjoyed watching older videos as well , sometimes only meeting a lion once they have sadly passed on . Ishca was a lion I only discovered after she passed , watching a video on spaying , and the discovery of her cancer , while on the operating table broke my heart !! Thankfully I discovered a video when she had given birth to cubs sired by Siam many years earlier , and you were in the den with her and she let you hold her cubs , with a closing shot of you having a nap with her and her cubs . Honestly that for me was the circle of life . Knowing she had an enriched life with you , and you with all your animals in your care have enriched all of our lives !

Is it safe to feed them a horse tgat has been put down? I mean the drugs used to do that...can't they make the cats/ hyenas sick or worse?

Hi Don. It's still hard to see Meg without Amy. It still brings tears to my eyes when I remember them together. I'm sure Meg misses her from time to time. After Ishca, Mufumu, and Amy, I don't want to deal with anymore for awhile. Kevin has had enough grief, too. 🤗

Just waiting to see this guy on the news after getting eaten by one his lions.

As an older guy I'm amazed at how our understanding of some of these species is changing. Both their intelligence and desire to interact with people with interest and often affection. Tiger Bay in the Bahamas and massive sharks like Emma and the relationships they have with local divers is so eye opening as well.

One lion I saw in a wild video showed a row of ticks bordering his ears and the cubs were so skinny

The heartbreaking thing is that Amy is in this special place now, but I hope being there brings you comfort instead of sadness. Some questions for #AskMeg - Do lions lick each other's wounds? - How loud is a lion's roar in dB? - How can we tell the difference between a roar to show dominance and a roar to call the pride? - Would a lion eat something different from meat? Like bread, fruits, soy meat, chocolate? - Do lionesses bury dead cubs like other big cats sometimes do?

You have way too many wild animals. Obviously it's no longer just conservation - you're making a living off them. I'm sure these creatures thrive in the wild if you're willing to let go of them. It's a big lie that once they're attached to humans, they can't learn to fend from themselves anymore. All I see is business, people exploiting the wild animals - they belong in the wild & not with humans full stop. If you love them, then let them go where they can find their real purpose & accomplish their self realisation. Surely they deserve better than just being petted & showed off to tourists for money.

You know, I was to come back through that rainbridge to turn back into a lion to have the privilege of 20 hours sleep and 4 hours play. Really would love that. Although the current daily going is pretty much same, wish I could sleep more time. Heaven is probably to be a captive lion in Kevin's wildlife sanctuary. Such smooth and soothing winds
