I was wondering Kevin if there are ever days during which you don't personally feel well enough or alert enough to be around the lions? I'm making a strange parallel between any apprehension of being around big cats with a self-aware apprehension I sometimes feel about riding a motorcycle... like it's an "off" day in my reaction times, vision, judgement, etc.

Lion Whisperer, Wow, happy belated Lions Day. I just saw this in my feed. Liked, subbed and will donate after SS check. I'm poor, but your work is important. Back in the 90s I was a Humane Officer in Washington State, US. I got to take some classes on handling 'exotic' pets. They'd come in through Seattle. We learned at Cat Tails, near Spokane Wa. They did rescue, large cats. Tigers, Lions, even a couple of Tigons or Ligers (neutered, for their health) from a horrible little circus. Pumas, Lynx, Clouded Leopard. All were beautiful. Not good pets! People got them, knew nothing on care, legal issues,etc. Cat Tails would transition them to 'Good' zoos, sanctuaries, some with breeding programs, (clouded leopards and lynx could be on release back to wild plans) others to sanctuary, where they could live normal lives. Luckily, I never had to deal with any, but the training was wonderful. I'll try to send pictures, later. 👍😘💗✌😷🎃

Kevin, do the lions get flees(like cats)? & If so, how do you treat them? & What about the lions not in captivity? (bearing in mind that flees can cause anemia.) & Also what about WORM treatments? I care for many wild (domestic)cats & incorporate Ditemaceous (ultra fine) earth into their diet to naturally kill worms & parasites.
