LionWhispererTV aim is to raise awareness about The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary’s mission is to provide a self-sustaining African carnivore sanctuary for the purposes of wild species preservation through education, awareness and funding, especially pertaining to the rapid decline of large carnivores in Africa due to habitat loss, human-predator conflict, unscrupulous hunting, disease and their illegal trade.
On this channel, The Lion Whisperer films the majority of his footage using a GoPro camera, allowing viewers to get as close as possible to the lions, leopards and hyenas at the sanctuary.
Kevin Richardson hopes to provide viewers insight into the lives of these beautiful creatures and in turn, by watching the videos on the channel, viewers will be directly contributing to the conservation of these majestic animals.

Gandalf is IMPRESSIVE! It's so sad that Kevin can no longer interact with him one-on-one because of the girls. Or did i misunderstand? Can't he take Gandalf on an enrichment walk by himself and leave Cussasa and Sibindie behind? In either event, it was so nice to meet the three of them and especially to see Meggie in the background with a look of "Hey Kev - would you PLEASE stop paying attention to those three and come spend time with ME!?!?!

Hey Kev: I so get how and why you are so crazy about your lions.Those big boys in maturity are just outrageously gorgeous! There really is no other word to describe what magnificent beasts they are. But the girls have such huge personalities. I love how when you take them on there in Richmond walks the girls go off and do their thing leaving the boys to do their‘s. The boys are usually rolling in poo/urine and marking and challenging the other boys in the other pens ... typical male lion stuff. On the other hand the girls are frolicking and playing with each other, but we also see in their relationship what it must be like when lionesses go out stalking and hunting prey. We all know that the girls are the real masterminds of the hunt, and they coordinate and cooperate with each other to bring down their kills. Little wonder you have the strong personality of a Meg and a Gabby. In their own way the lionesses are magnificent strategists and hunters. Gabby just likes to keep her skills honed by attacking tires. Cannot tell you the hours of enjoyment and a delight I derive from watching your videos. You have a righteous calling there taking care of the king of beasts.

From al the wildlife shows I've seen it looks like Lions are the easiest for humans to work with in captivity of all the big cats and Leopards are the most dangerous, correct me if I'm wrong. The Lions just seem more willing to accept human contact. Obviously they're never "tame".

It’s such a privilege to be able to be part of these wonderful animals lives.I have been lucky to have petted and cuddled a baby tiger, leopard and cheetah and hug a beautiful elephant. They were all rescues. They were in good condition when rescued so didn’t have any signs of abuse. You are a hero to these animals and you can see the love they have for you. 🦁💜

These are rescues too. From the canned hunting industry. If you're in South Africa, you shouldn't be playing with the baby lions, because that's where they end up.

@Uzo Design They can't have prey in the enclosures because although the enclosures are big (1-2) acres that would just be penning those animals in with killers. What about those animals? They can kill on their walks into the reserve.

@Uzo Design there probably wasn't any hanging around at the time. There are videos on the channel of the lions catching prey so it's not like there isn't any.

They are captive because they have been rescued from the canned hunting/circus industry and they have some health problems. They can hunt prey whenever they go on walks.

Even though he’s not ever touching Cussasa and Sibindie, it’s so impressive how Sibindie left her safe enclosure and then turns her back to Kevin! She doesn’t want to be handled by humans but she trusts Kevin to not only be out of her eye-line but also to be at her most vulnerable spot. That is unbelievably beautiful and a credit to Kevin’s gentle way and respect for them all. This really shines the light on complete jackasses like “Joe Exotic” and his kind that horribly abuse and exploit these beautiful big cats.

He has said that he follows the lion's lead on whether they want interaction or not. Gandalf used to have more interaction, but he's changed a little. Cussasa and Sibinde have remained semi wild.

Bears have been known to be around people and not harm them in most cases, save the polar bear. All cats will usually just kill you, unless you have known them since they were young. and even then. They're just brutal in comparison.

I feel. I took care of a Tiger, Q, and felt the same joy up here in the Great White North. These animals are special - as are all - thanks for sharing... P.S. ...and cheetahs, panthers, bobcats and my little buddy - the house cat who remains nameless...
