I always find it very intriguing that even big kitties love to be scratched and rubbed the same way that smaller kitties like. They even nudge the same way as small domesticated cats.

Came upon your video. Love cats and Black Panthers are my favorite. Visited wildlife Big Cat center in Az 20 years ago and the owner asked me if I wanted to go in with this beautiful male I was talking to through the enclosure. Stunned me with the question ,when I answered with no this beautiful cat does not know me. He said right answer. I have to much respect for wildlife. I had a close encounter with a bobcat on our property in Az about the same time and all went well. The bobbie was doing his morning hunting for quail and I was feeding the quail when they took off and I looked around and saw the bobbie. I was not the least bit nervous and neither was he. Ears up and forward ,not showing teeth, not growling, tail and body stance relaxed. I was talking to him and using words with first letter of B such as beautiful etc, Then after a few minutes I realized this was not the best situation to be in and walked back to the house. He continued to stand in place and watch me. I count myself fortunate that both of were calm and enjoyed my opportunity.

#Blackleopards I notice when eating together they don't seem to crawl at each other or get territorial with the tomato sauce treat. Other than eggs and catnip is there any other treats they enjoy?

The black leopards are so captivating - I can't take my eyes off their long tails and eyes (I mean - those EYES!). There is just something so ethereal about them - as if they are from some alternate universe. So great that we get to see them up close in these videos!

Hey Richard... try planting some banyan trees in the sanctuary. It will create awesome ambiance.

Watching this video panthers seem to have the most in common with house cats in that they're playful and mischievous. Lions and other big cats seem to have more in common with big dogs and the way they play and show affection. Just my opinion.

How old is Coal and how old is Nikita?

I too didn't realize they weren't completely (solid) black. It makes sense though as my black cat isn't really black. She has the same brownish color with black tabby stripes but only obvious in certain light. She even has the classic "M" on her forehead like other domestic cats. These are incredible videos. I came across this channel last night and so glad I did. It's really interesting to see the differences and the similarities between the big cats and our domesticated/house cats. So fascinating it was my first stop with my morning cup of coffee to explore this channel more. Great work you do and thank you for doing it. I work with animals in a completely different way and come across a lot of cat lovers. This will be a channel I will recommend to certain "cat people".

Just asking... are these melanic african leopards strictly related to the so called Java black panthers (which allegedly are the melanic variant of the indonesian leopard) ? Are melanic leopards as big as the classic ones ? Thanks for this awesome upload :-)

Only just discovered your channel, but it really made me smile - the one food I've always found that any stray cat will devour is canned pilchards in tomato sauce. We keep a stash just for wild cats. I guess the little ones aren't so terribly different to their magnificent forebears.
