The wonderful brothers, so glad Yame is back on the right track to becoming his old self again :) Depression and other psychological illnesses are a real battle, for both the ones suffering from it and for everyone around them. I’m so happy Kevin took in both George and Yami all those years ago. Poor George has gone through so much physically at such a young age and he’s turned into a gorgeous healthy young lion. Yami is just absolutely beautiful and I love when he comes running up to Kevin. They’re both so beautiful ♥️.

It’s a disgrace you having to tranquillise Yame. If you accept the exact same terms as you did with yame then I’ll say no more. Let them be natural as much as possible. If you can’t accept yame for who he is then don’t go near him send him to the wild which is where he wants to be!!!

Kevin, are you ever worried that the lions might get bit by a snake?

You can feel the sense that the Lions really do enjoy these walks of enrichment.

It stands out to me how G&Y are not just great examples of what lions deal with long term when abused, but for many mammals in general who start life in very traumatic circumstances. One lion showing the physical side of that trauma while the other exhibits the psychological side! Unfortunately, people seem to think that once a creature is removed from that environment, given food and love, life goes back to normal. Sad to say but there are too many of us who know better than that simply because we’ve lived or experienced it. The physical injuries are almost always the easiest injuries to help heal. Healing the mind, be it lion, human, dog, mouse, is a so much harder to recognize, let alone ‘fix’. The thing that gives me hope is that there are these handfuls of people who are willing to do all they can to help give that life a better future! So I sincerely applaud people like Kevin Richardson who have stepped up and been open to the challenge!! You should be very proud of the work you do and the work of your staff!! It’s truly amazing!

Fluoxetine is not an antipsychotic drug, helps with depression and anxiety. I wonder, as you say if something about Yame's past was re-triggered? So glad to see him so much better.

Maybe it’s just me and I could be wrong.. Yame looks like he has a slightly swollen back hind leg. Almost like a gland area? Idk. The inner part of his back left leg. Seems much larger when compared to the other side. I notice because I just watched an older video of George and Yame -and Yame didn’t seem to have that large of a difference to his back legs as this one.

They are really your Boys .I love my domestic kitty's more then people. They give so much and just for ameal and a safe pace to live.IF/WHEN I lose one it breaks my heart and it is a loss like no other.

Another animal whispered wow Dean a lion whisper cross over

Even wild animals raised from birth by humans still have wild instincts. It would take thousands of year of breeding to get them house cat domesticated and even then I would not trust them completely. If a house cat flips on you you have an extremely high chance of being able to fend them off pretty much 100 percent chance. If a pet lion turns on you and you have no weapons to defend yourself you are 100 percent dead. Dogs attack their owners here and there depending on the breed the person you of course can survive a dog attack a pack of dogs turned on you no weapons thats your ass you are likely not escaping that situation. Such scenarios are far and few in between but it does happen. Im not taking that chance. I own two dogs if I got another it would be a small non pit breed. I try not to ever put myself in Even a small potentially dangerous situation unless I have to to survive ie driving.

I hope this guy is always prepared for danger when with these animals meaning quick acting weapons on deck.

Sometimes our brain chemistry is out of whack and needs some correction and lions aren't that different I suppose. I'm glad you got Yame the help he needed and he's doing so much better now.
